Summersville Memorial has a 31 bed Medical Surgical Unit, which provides medical, per and post surgical care of the acutely and chronically ill patient.
The patient population served by the Medical Surgical Unit consists of pediatric, young adult through the geriatric community.
The scope of service includes basic general medical nursing care, including cardiac monitoring via telemetry unit, the treatment of respiratory conditions requiring continuous oxygenation; pre and post surgical care and monitoring, convalescence and health restoration.
The Medical Surgical Unit maintains a staff of Professional Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Certified Nursing Assistants.
