The Dietary department of SMH provides food for all patients, residents,
staff , and visitors. Special food items are prepared for patients who
require therapeutic diets.The department also staffs a Consulting Dietitian
who assesses all acute care patients with nutritional needs, and schedules
appointments for out-patients who need help with any diets that are ordered
by their attending physician. The department is run by a certified dietary
manager who is trained in all aspects of proper food handling. The Dietary
Manager and Dietitian often attend health fairs and public events to
further educate the public on nutritional issues.All dietary employees
are required to maintain high standards of food-handling, and are retrained
semi-annually on issues pertaining to safe food-handling.
In addition to the Cafeteria, vending machines are in the main hallway near our Extended Care Facility and Emergency Department waiting room.
Breakfast: 8:30 am - 9:30 am
Lunch: 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Dinner: 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
