After you leave the hospital, your account is coded and billed to your insurance. This process takes about 2 weeks. It typically takes 50-60 days for an insurance company to resolve their portion of the claim. If payment is not received within this time frame, SMH may request your assistance in resolving your claim with your insurance company.

You can contact SMH if you have questions about your bill including
your account balance;
if you want to update your account information, including changes to your insurance or mailing address;
if you need to make payment arrangements or have questions regarding financial assistance;

Customer service representatives are available to assist you from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday - Friday. Your representative will be listed on your bill under the description and the telephone number will be listed under important message.
